THE OLD ORCHARD, PENROSE

The wine on your kitchen bench

Kuentz-Bas Mosaik Pinot Blanc, made by Laure Adam in Alsace, France. Chosen by Stephen and Rivka for the warmer months at Penrose, and imported from Laure by our friends at Vino Cammino.

The perfect wine for warmer days and long lunches

Riesling might be the more famous white wine variety from Alsace, but we really love this Pinot Blanc. It's bone dry, so it's perfect for the warmer months at The Old Orchard, and for long afternoons outside. It is usually only available at restaurants in Australia but our friends at Vino Cammino were happy to share some with our guests. It's super versitile with food, so whatever you're planning to have for lunch or dinner, there's a good chance this will be a perfect match.

Laure Adam, Kuentz-Bas

Laure Adam is the 15th generation to manage her family winery in Alsace. In 2004, around 400 years into their journey, they purchased the Kuentz-Bas vineyards and now make a thrilling selection of terroir driven whites from them.

Laure has a quiet and friendly confidence in everything she does - almost like those generations before her have imprinted a knowledge of the Alsacian terroir in her DNA.
