Kuentz-Bas La 4ème Tour "Signature" 2020 AOC Alsace 750mL

The Signature is one of the very few blends made at Kuentz-Bas, presenting a wonderful opportunity to taste the lesser known side of Alsace (where Riesling and Gewurztraminer take much of the spotlight). It is 50% Pinot Blanc, 25% Auxerrois, 15% Pinot Gris and 10% Muscat. It spends 10 months in very large 100 year old oak casks.

The grapes, all hand harvested, come from biodynamic vineyards with an average age of 44 years. They are located on the hillsides of Husseren-les-Châteaux, at the culmination of the famous Alsace Wine Road, at an altitude of about 300 to 400 meters. These soils are made of clay, marl, limestone and sandstone, they allow beautiful maturations and the preservation of acidity.

Tasting note from the Domaine until we write our own: Dry wine with a charming and complex nose inspired by fruits and flowers, a full palate and finish with a lovely minerality. The Signature of Kuentz-Bas. Pair with appetisers, white fish with sauce, salmon, white meat (veal, chicken).
