In winemaker Sophie Conte's words, 2022 was "a truly beautiful vintage. It was warm during summer, with rain arriving at the end of August, followed by dry conditions through late September and early October. This provided us with a perfect harvest window in mid-October, allowing for a careful selection and blending process. The result is a very bright and luminous expression of Sangiovese, showing great elegance and a gentle, embracing character—even at a young age. So the 2022 Riserva continues to maintain its characteristic juicy and muscular character, with the brilliant expressiveness of ripe Sangiovese fruit supported by a backbone of acidity and salinity."

The Tregole Chianti Classico Riserva is one of the "biggest" wine in our portfolio. It is 100% Sangiovese from a single vineyard of 40 year old vines and is aged in 700L Tonneaux for 24 months. It will age effortlessly. The riper black fruits (think prunes) really stand out compared to the other Tregole wines. The grapes grow just 50m lower than the other Tregole vineyards, but you really notice the impact of the extra warmth those grapes enjoy.  Despite the tiny size of the vineyard, it has a double aspect shape which means there's a mix of flavours across the ripeness spectrum in addition to the ripe black fruit. Pair with big and bold red meat dishes.
