Timorasso and Granatza are stunning varietals that were saved from oblivion in the past few decades and are now being held up as some of the finest white wines in Italy. Carricante is earning praise as the delicious and saline white counterpart to Etna's renowned reds. Viognier has a long history in Piedmont but it is often buried behind its stars of Nebbiolo (and increasingly Timorasso). And did you know Sangiovese is a red varietal that can make a cracking white wine?
