Domaine de la Fontainerie Demi-Sec "Le C" 2016 AOC Vouvray 750mL

Another lovely demi-sec by winemaker Catherine Deruet Dhoye. The 2016 "Le C" is in a wonderful drinking window, but is likely to continue ageing well into the 2030s.

The "Le C" line of wines from Domaine de La Fontainerie are made from a blend of grapes hand picked from across the estate vineyards, and vinified in barrels of with 1-3 years of age. Once bottled, the wine rests in the ancient limestone caves of the estate until we place our order with Catherine. 

That time in the cellar in Vouvray has lent the wine a delicious nutty character, which melds with lusciously ripe stonefruit, pear and honey flavours.
