Domaine de la Fontainerie 2006 Moelleux "Le C" AOC Vouvray 750mL

The "Le C" line of wines from Domaine de La Fontainerie are made from a blend of grapes hand picked from across the estate vineyards, and vinified in barrels of with 1-3 years of age. Once bottled, the wine rests in the ancient limestone caves of the estate until we place our order with Catherine. 

This wine is a sweet "moelleux" style, perfect with dessert, but don't pigeonhole it there. It's oh so complex, and has all of the nutty sherry character you have come to expect from museum release Fontainerie, driven by decades in their limestone cave in Vouvray. Full of dried and candied fruit flavours, with dried pineapple rising above the rest and supported by a wonderfully vibrant acidity.
