Cecilia Monte 2020 Barbaresco DOCG "Serracapelli" 750mL

Barbaresco from the Serracapelli vineyard at the Northern tip of the region. 100% Nebbiolo grapes, of course. It spends 12 months in mixed format oak and has decades of ageing potential. Following on from the 2019 which was one of our favourite reds of the vintage, the 2020 is a real delight. 

The fruits are fresher, with less of a balsamic character and more vibrant fresh red cherry. We've never eaten candied fennel, but this wine gives a pretty good idea of what that would taste like. With 5 years of age at tasting it already has a prominent truffle flavour. This is everything we love about Barbaresco.
