Azienda Agricola Cagliero Barolo DOCG "Terlo" 2019 750mL

Barolo from the Terlo cru, which neighbours the Ravera cru, and wraps around the South West end of the Barolo township. 

Tasted in 2024, it needed 3 hours of air to hit its expressive best. Classic Barolo structure of high but balanced tannin, acid & alcohol. Bursting with blackberry & crisp red cherry, with a hint of cedar from large Slavonian oak barrels.

The Terlo, with a fresh character, has violets and roses on the nose and herbaceous/vegetale flavours like celeriac and capsicum. We paired this with a silky zucchini and parmesan pasta.

There is already a little balsamic & leather appearing but more tertiary characteristics will appear over the coming decades.
