Details last confirmed August 2025
Your Perth BYO tour is all sorted here with Vino Cammino's collection of Perth's best BYO restaurants.
Sign up to our mailing list for 10% off our fine wines direct from our exclusive producers in France and Italy. You'll also hear about updates to this list and can give us tips on places we might have missed!
Before we get to the list, here are our usual three tips for doing BYO right.
- Call ahead. We do our best to keep this list current, but it's always worth confirming to avoid any misunderstandings.
- Match the corkage with the quality of your bottle. As a general rule of thumb, we find the corkage (the restaurant charge per bottle for BYO) increases as the food, service and glassware quality increases.
- Mix it up a bit and grab something from the restaurant wine list as well as your own bottle(s). The restaurant will appreciate it, and you won't have to lug an esky in the front door :)
We're keen to get some proper Carbonara at Francoforte on our next Perth trip
On with the list, starting...
In the city:
1. Francoforte Spaghetti Bar - $5 per person corkage. All seatings. Book online up to 4:30 the day of dining. After that call 0461 433 052. We love all things spaghetti, but they have proper carbonara! This calls from a Rosso di Montalcino or Brunello from Il Colle di Carli - because we first learned how to make proper carbonara in Caterina Carli's kitchen.
2. Lulu's Little Bistro - $10 corkage. All seatings. Book here. Last time we looked there was Escargot on the menu, which we only eat with Chablis. Take some from Domaine des Trois V.
3. Uncle Billy's Chinese Restaurant - $6 corkage. Sunday to Thursday. You only need to book for 10 or more. You know what will be super versatile for the enormous menu at no frills Uncle Billy's? Riesling. Take a Riesling. You can't go wrong with Kuentz-Bas.
South of the Swan:
4. Juniper & Bay - $10 corkage. Tuesdays only. Book here. German heritage, but we'd take a great Nebbiolo to pair with the duck (or truffle dishes when in season). Look no further than Cecilia Monte for a bottle to take. Barbaresco if you can afford it, Langhe Nebbiolo if you can't.
5. Tucci - $20 corkage. Wednesday and Thursday only. Book here. For this family feel Italian joint, might we suggest a Sangiovese from Fattoria Tregole? Either Chianti Classico (especially if you're there for Ossobuco Thursday) or Sophie's rare white (well, pinkish) Sangiovese.
6. Rym Tarng - $3 corkage. All seatings. Call 0435 575 822 to book, and you'll need to because there are only a few tables and the Thai street food on offer looks incredible. An off-dry Vouvray from Domaine de La Fontainerie will handle all of the heat.
In the West:
7. Chez Pierre - $13.90 corkage. Tuesday to Thursday only. Call (08) 9386 5886 to book. French fine dining, so take the finest of all: Champagne from Godin et Filles. Don't you love the specificity of their corkage?
8. Dusit - $3 corkage. All seatings. Book here. We'e said it before and we'll keep saying it. For great Thai, take a great Gewurztraminer. The Grand Cru Pfersigberg from Kuentz-Bas is excellent.
9. Kiri - $12 corkage. Mondays and Tuesdays only. Book here. For this Japanese spot, we'd take premier cru Chablis from Domaine des Trois V. If you're partial to raw seafood - go for the Vaucoupin or Vaugiraut. For the cooked side of things (grilled eel - yum!) Vosgros is your best bet.
10. Nolita - $0 corkage. Monday and Tuesday only. Book here. Take an Etna Bianco from Monteleone for the starters at this Italian joint in the west and then grab a red from the great wine list.
11. Lady of Ro - $8 corkage. All seatings. Book here. A rare BYO only option, we think a Chenin Blanc from Domaine de La Fontainerie would be a versatile match for the starters, and maybe a Barolo from Azienda Agricola Cagliero to pair with a red meat main.
12. Marumo - $2.50 per person corkage. Tuesday to Friday. Book here months in advance - check the website for when new bookings open. For this very special Omakase style experience, we would take a vintage Champagne from Godin et Filles.
13. Monsterella Pizza - $7 corkage. All seatings. Book here. All of our BYO lists include a pizza place, the more authentically Napoli style the better and Monsterella fits the bill for Perth. Take anything from our Pizza Pack.
14. Tsukaya - $9 corkage. All seatings. Book here. Have you tried the Timorasso from Cecilia Monte yet? Either way, grab a bottle and take it along to pair with the excellent Japanese cuisine, with a Peruvian influence.
15. Trattoria Valdarno - $0 corkage. All seatings. Their internet presence in sparse, so just give them a call on (08) 9389 9477 to book. No fuss, family run Italian fare. Take a Chianti Classico please!
