Fattoria Tregole Toscana IGT "Chicchero" 2023 750mL

Sophie Conte's "Chicchero" is a relatively rare Sangiovese from the Chianti Classico region that is not used to produce a Chianti Classico. There is a little more pink in the '23 than the 2022, having spent a touch longer on skins, but not so pink that Sophie would call it a rosé. This vintage is somewhere between a white and a rosé. Whatever you want to call it, it's a wonderfully refreshing and textural wine. Initially created as an experiment while waiting for vines that were too young to produce the better known red, she has found something special here. A parcel of vines is now reserved to keep producing it.
