Fattoria Tregole Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione 2019 750mL

Gran Selezione represents the best of Chianti Classico estates - accounting for only 5% of production from the region. In Tregole's case, it is a single vineyard from vines of more than 50 years of age. The vineyard is a little higher elevation than the Riserva, and grows in a more grey-blue sandstone (Macigno) than the Albanese & Galestro mix that the Riserva grapes grow in, so you get pure elegance and fruit that leans more toward red and blue than black. Sophie carefully balances this graceful wine with oak: 50% ages in 700L tonneaux and 50% in a 16hL old oak tank.  The 2019 will benefit from more time in the bottle before you open it.
